We Don't Sell Your Data. Our Business Is Built on Trust.
One question comes up in almost every conversation we have with a consulting firm, usually near the end and a little carefully: "Are you going to sell our data?"
It's a fair question. Most people have learned that when software is cheap, the data is often part of the price. And the data in an estimating tool isn't trivial. Your rate cards show what you charge. Your role mix shows how you staff. Your sizing logic and question banks are the methodology your senior people spent years developing. Put together, that's a map of how your firm competes.
So here's the plain answer: no. We don't sell your data, and we won't.
Why that isn't a marketing line
JungleOS is built on decades of experience in professional services. We've scoped the deals, staffed the projects, and defended the numbers in front of clients. We've also sat on the buyer's side of this exact question, and we wouldn't put our own firm's pricing into a tool we didn't trust.
That experience didn't stop when we started building. We stay close to the professional services industry, and we listen to the firms using Scope. Their feedback shapes what we build next. None of that works if they can't trust us with their data.
Our business is built on trust, in two ways.
Trust in the math. Scope's estimation engine is deterministic. The same inputs produce the same number every time. There's no model guessing at your hours, and role totals reconcile exactly to the project total. If you can't trust the number, the tool is worthless.
Trust with your data. Your proprietary information stays yours and stays private. If you can't trust us with it, the math doesn't matter.
What that means in practice
Promises are cheap, so here's what our privacy policy commits us to in writing.
- Your organization controls its workspace data. Estimates, client profiles, rate cards, and configuration belong to your organization. We process that data only to provide the service, on your behalf.
- We don't sell your personal data. The policy says so directly.
- Organizations are kept separate. Row-level security in the database keeps each organization's data isolated from every other organization's.
- Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and employee access to customer data is limited.
- Your data is hosted in the United States.
- You can leave cleanly. If you cancel, your workspace data is kept for up to 90 days so you can retrieve it or come back, and then it's permanently deleted.
- No advertising cookies on the service. Cookies keep you signed in and remember your workspace. They don't track you across the web.
A word on AI
A lot of software is adding AI right now, and a reasonable follow-up question is where your data goes when it does.
Scope's estimating engine doesn't use AI, and that's deliberate. Estimating needs consistent math and logic, not a probabilistic guess. We do see a place for AI in the harder language work around consulting, like reading a long RFP. When we add a feature like that, our policy commits us to updating the policy and naming the provider before any workspace data is sent.
Ask us the hard questions
If you're evaluating any estimating or quoting tool, and not just ours, a few questions are worth asking:
- Who owns the data I put in?
- Do you sell it or share it?
- How is my data kept separate from other customers'?
- What happens to my data if I cancel?
You should get a direct answer to each one. Ours are above, and our full privacy policy is on our site. If something isn't covered, ask us and we'll answer plainly.
